The Saguaro Story
The Lansing family has been a fixture in Apache Junction since 1991, when they purchased the original Post Office building and turned it into Saguaro Family Fitness. Claire, a social worker, and her husband Cornelius, a M.D. and Psychiatrist, had witnessed the needs of the people of Apache Junction and the surrounding communities. They started Saguaro Family Fitness as a sanctuary for those who needed a physical outlet and wanted to focus on their overall well-being and vitality.
The facility quickly became a place where locals and winter visitors could come to better themselves physically and emotionally, while forming relationships with other people in their community. Over the years, the Lansing’s have adapted to the growth and needs of Apache Junction, while always remaining focused on their mission, “To Teach Principles and Practices of Exercise and Lifestyle Habits”. They have also never been afraid to try new things to better serve the people of the town they live in and love.
Saguaro Rehabilitation And Aquatic Therapy started in 2007 and continues to be owned and managed by the Lansing family. Daughter, Christie, has a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and is in charge of Physical and Aquatic Therapy services and Claire still oversees the daily operations.
